In the abstract
I would like to
Love my neighbour
And earn merit
For my future lives
But when my neighbour is
Grazing his cattle on my land
Stealing my jackfruit
Hacking my trees
I rant at him
Yelling at the top of my voice
Cursing him, his sons
His goats, his cows
I enjoy my Schadenfreude
To the hilt
When someone else’s cattle
Sneak into his field
And I hear him ranting
Truly
Love thy neighbour
As thyself
Is easier in the abstract
Than in the
Minute particulars
